Acqua Alta bookstore in Venice, one of the most beautiful in the world!

Here is one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world in the magical city of Venice! In the Acqua Alta bookstore, obviously, you will find many books but here they are stacked in a particular order-disorder: some inside a gondola, others in a bathtub and then, going out to the back of the store, here are the books that make up a staircase leading to the canal.
Not far from the most touristy corners, you will find this magical shop, one of a kind, considered one of the most beautiful in the world as the entrance sign says. In short, a little corner of paradise, for lovers of reading and more, I would say in general for lovers of original things, made with heart and passion. Inaugurated in 2004 by the creative mind of a man from Vicenza named Luigi Frizzo, who has managed to transform a truly unique place by conquering anyone. And taking advantage of a late summer day, I also went there to browse, to touch with my hand, to smell the pages of books.

You will find it in Calle Lunga Santa Maria Formosa and it will be impossible not to love it and although at first glance it may seem like a crazy naive explosion, you will discover that nothing is positioned at random. You will understand it from the outside: stalls and displays full of color or black and white prints, objects, posters with welcome phrases and then they, the Venetian cats, silent masters of the city. You will also find them inside the library, sleeping with one eye half closed and half open, checking the situation between one shelf and another.
Now that you are inside you will not be able to not notice the immense amount of books. They are everywhere! Pages upon pages that forcefully invade any space. And since high tide is a real problem for everyone in Venice, it is no coincidence that books have been placed on the gondola, in bathtubs or on raised shelves, so as not to take any risks.

You will really find everything: used books, novelties, picture books, novels and manuals, and obviously many books about Venice. You just need to examine the thousands of volumes that are stacked everywhere. Then move to the back, the most beautiful part of the Acqua Alta bookstore, where a staircase completely made of books awaits you. Hundreds of encyclopedic volumes intended for pulping that have been wisely arranged to form step after step. As the writing says, follow the books, go up the ladder, and then stop at the top. From here, you can take a look at the channels that divide the library from the rest of the world.

A truly unmissable place!
